Reilly's Summer Seat Farm

reilly's summer seat farm

Reilly’s Summer Seat Farm has been open to the public in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for 32 years. This year, owner Mike Reilly and his wife decided to announce they would be closing the doors of their farm after pumpkin season. The couple hopes to settle into retirement. The fall fest, which takes place every weekend from late September to Halloween, is one of Pittsburgh’s most well known. Families travel, sometimes from great distances, to enjoy the scenic hayride, pick pumpkins and participate in the many other activities Reilly offers on his property. I wanted to focus on the importance of keeping small, family-run farms like Reilly’s alive and what it might take to do so, from Reilly’s perspective.
